About Me

About Me

Hello, my name is Leonna Chodos and I am Marriage and Family Therapist. I received my Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University.

I work with individuals, couples, and families  who are going through life transitions, such as self identity/discovery,  separation/divorce, parenting issues, family and partner conflict, and work or school-related stressors.

I have specific training in working with adults and teens who are struggling with feelings of depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts. And, I am a certified Suicide and Crisis Interventionist.

I have also gained experienced in a variety of therapeutic setting such as community counseling centers, suicide and crisis hotlines and in high schools and I have worked with many diverse populations.

I have worked extensively with teenagers in different high schools in the San Jose area.  I also have gained valuable experience and knowledge working at the Santa Clara County Suicide and Crisis Hotline supporting  people in crisis.

In my previous life I also worked in a family law firm. Working in the area of family law allowed me the opportunity to work with families going through divorce, separation, child custody issues and co-parenting conflict. Working at the family law firm not only taught me about the family court system and procedures, it also made me acutely aware of the short and long term effects divorce has on adults and children.
